Radex RD1706 vs Terra-P MKS-05 Dosimeter Comparison [video]

The Radex RD1706 features two Geiger Muller detector tubes while the Terra P comes equipped with only a single tube. They are both new generation dosimeters, with digital displays and a multitude of functions.

Since the Terra-P is not as sensitive as the Radex, for this test I've removed the tray covering the GM tube on the Terra-P. Of course now the indications are uncalibrated.
The test shows the Radex 1706 is better for low levels of radiation. It also has two GM tubes which give extra sensitivity.

Radiation monitor RADEX RD1503


Experts from Moscow Engineering Physics Institute QUARTA-RAD, Ltd. company would like to offer their last elaboration Radiation monitor RADEX RD1503. It is an up-to-date and reliable instrument for detection of a radiation, designed for household consumers who have knowledge of dosimetry at a common level and wish (or enforced) to use dosimeters.

RADEX RD1503 is a baseline model of a new trend of radioactivity monitors. QUARTEX RD8901 had started the line and according to sales volume became a rather “national” dosimeter.

The quality of indication of any dosimeter depends first of all on the built-in detector of ionizing radiation. RADEX RD1503 contains a low-voltage SBM20-1 type Geiger-Muller counter of hard beta and gamma radiations, which is used in professional dosimetric equipment.

RADEX RD1503 is made for detecting a level of radiation on the open air and indoors, for estimation of a radioactivity of materials and objects. The devise is specially designed for the usage in conditions of life; therefore users do not need to know dosimetry, all information is set up in the manual.

Taking into account various tastes and needs of customers the item has a great number of individual installation-specific settings, i.e. units of measure, threshold valuations of beep and volume, mode of a display illumination for using in conditions of a low lighting. All these set-ups, including battery indicator, are represented on a 3×4,5 cm display.

A graphical display allows producing the items with a menu on any language. At the same time the price of the device is two - three times lower than its analogues.
